Of the Brotherhood of Saint Karbides’s vocalist; the Rev’s past, little is known. He arrived by plane wearing a big hat one day, and immediately upon meeting Dan Bingham insisted they start a band. The rest is history. Influences include pain, betrayal, abandonment, loss, and loneliness.
Guitar: Dan (Brother Blue) Bingham got his head stuck in a guitar at the age of 13 and has not been the same since. Bands like The Beatles, Electric Light Orchestra, and Led Zeppelin pointed the way but it wasn’t until he discovered Rush a year later that it all made sense. Less influential bands like Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, and Primus helped keep his fingers tangled. Before The Brotherhood of Saint Karbide, Dan was kicked out of great bands like StraightJacket, Little Sister, and Witchgrass.
Drums and percussion: Robert (Roboctopus) Westcott Started playing drums in 1986 due to his older brother Del. Initially raised on 80’s metal bands and then found his groove with progressive rock with music from Yes, Rush, Saga, Genesis and Pink Floyd. In 2002 he found his main influence from Gavin Harrison with Porcupine Tree. Playing and recording mostly original music with bands including Nyxie, Fractal Rock and now The Brotherhood of Saint Karbide. BOSK continues to push his style and abilities to new levels
Bass: Donovan (D-) Read grew up with 60s pop and Motown classics, had his life changed irrevocably when introduced to Judas Priest and Black Sabbath in 1982. By 1984 he was disillusioned by corporate rock, and found punk rock and bands like Black Flag, Minor Threat, and The Descendants. It wasn’t until he was inspired by a friend who made playing bass look easy, so he started playing bass. He started playing with frineds in 1987, and they called themselves Two Foot Small. Before breaking up to form Trouser Gallery, Two Foot Small had the pleasure of opening for Green Day in a garage on their 39 Smooth tour. Other bands include Adore, El Topo, NOTEC and The Supposables.
